“Color is descriptive. Black and white is interpretive.” Since I started with photography I never really liked to shoot photos in color. For me it was too documental and not arty. My earliest memory was a photograph I took of an elderly man walking next to a canal in Venice. I did not like the photo in the first place. But when I turned it black and white it somehow added a story to that picture. Now that photograph was less about the man’s visual appearance but more about his thoughts and emotions.
